No One Understands

No one knows how it feels, to go through this pain

I have women emailing me all the time about people in their lives trying to tell them how they should feel and what they should do about their situation and have no clue what it's like to be hurt by someone they love. Yes, I get this very well. It is very difficult to take advice from someone who doesn't understand the depth of your pain because they have never had to deal with it, but they seem to be experts in the field.

The unfortunate part of this we begin to get frustrated and misunderstood. Now you start to believe that its something you've done. Not only do you have your own situation to focus on, and you're trying your hardest to figure out the next steps you need to take, you have other people in the mix, which has caused more confusion, and are making matters worse for you. You feel you should have just kept things to yourself.

Eventually, what happens here, we let go of the need to explain our selves and our situation with others. We pull back and stay alone in thought, and try to figure things out on our own and wish we had some support. But the last thing we need is to get into a disagreement or argument over what is happening in our life. Because someone feels they know more about it then you do.

I found myself always on the defensive. Too many questions about why.

1. Why did you let your situation go so far?

2. Why didn't you call for help?

3. Why did you allow him to hurt you?

4. Why didn't you stand up for yourself?

These questions obviously came from people who have absolutely no right to ask them. Why you might ask because they weren't living my life or your life. They don't understand the circumstances. Did you ever hear that saying? "You will never understand until it happens to you" This saying holds merit.

We really didn't need people telling us everything is fine now, or this will pass or you'll get over it. Ect...

What we were looking for or still are seeking is understanding, compassion, and support. While we figure things out and collect our lives and begin to put the pieces back together that are scattered like confetti everywhere we turn.

By telling someone, you should have done this or that would make them feel like a failure, they would begin to second guess themselves. No, advise here not needed. This person needs encouragement and someone to listen.

Don't judge, no one deserves to be judged going through a difficult time. If they cry they need to get it out. That's not a sign of weakness, this is something that needs to take place, all apart of the healing process. If they don't look as if they are put together, keep your comments to yourself. They will get better without your foolish remarks.

You obviously do not know what someone is going through, so have some compassion, and reassure them that they are not alone. Getting out of bed is the most difficult task in many cases. They are most likely facing many challenges ahead.

Everyone has there own stuff, is that fair to say? We are still responsible for how we treat others. Many situations take longer for most people to even understand. Healing is endless. Things will come up in their daily lives, such as memories, thoughts of pain and hurt that will bring sorrow. Like a replay button that doesn't stop. It turns the emotional gauge higher and lower depending on the day. As time goes on it becomes lighter and easier to deal with. Until then. Love

Love them and show support all the time. Share joy and kindness. This is the most effective way that a person who is broken will feel the most supported. Did you ever hear the saying?
"love conquers all"

Hidden Behind The Shadows Of A Man

Living Under The Control Of Someone Else

When this happens in our life, there are no words to describe the frightening feeling it causes. I know this first hand. I was with a man who I believed I loved, and I really thought in my heart he loved me. As time went on, I began to live in his shadow. There wasn't anything more terrifying than the feeling of living in the dark. It feels as if your world comes to a halt.

I worked two, or three jobs to keep up the finances in my home. When I look back today and I realize that working was my salvation. I didn't want to go home. I felt that there was nothing I wanted to go home to. When I worked, I was able to smile, and laugh eat in peace, without unkind words, and anger.

I began to stay to myself most of the time. I really didn't speak to many people about my situation, I was a private person. My children knew about my hurt and pain, but I kept them away from my house. I felt I was punished for something I didn't do. I saw my family less and less. I spoke about my situation less and less. I began to feel the grip on my life. In reality, it didn't belong to me anymore. There were days, I prayed someone would come and save me. I didn't know what to do myself or where to begin to fix this.

I wanted what every woman, wished for. To be loved and respected, and cherished. My life was further from that.

If anyone would ask me how I was, I would nod my head, and tell them everything was alright. Even if they can tell through my eyes that there was pain. I denied my feelings and held them under lock and key close to my heart.

I prayed a lot. As I was going through this hurtful period in my life, I knew this wasn't my last stop. I knew that the good Lord had something else in mind for me. I knew I had to be patient and wait out the storm. I had peace in my heart, knowing I did the best I could under the circumstances.

I would get up every day and thank God for this amazing glorious day. I knew it wasn't the life I dreamed of, I knew the day wasn't going to be what I expected. I held on to the Lord, and let him guide me through the learning process. I never felt alone, and I never gave up. This wasn't the story God wrote for me.

There were people who made fun of me. They laughed and even sent me bad wishes. It was demining, and sad. I would continue to smile and carry on with my day as if I didn't know what I heard. People sometimes forget their voice carries. Unfortunately, they believed in what they heard, but not the truth. Still today, I never tried to defend myself, I don't think there was a need for any of that. I had to walk away from people who didn't understand what I went through and let this part of me rest.

If you feel this way, please reach out and speak to someone. Get a hold of family or friends, anyone that can help you. Do whatever it takes to get help. Please do not wait as long as I did. No one has the right to treat you this way.

You are a valuable woman, that deserves to be treated with a kind voice, and loved with the utmost respect. Love is amazing, but the right kind of love is very important. Don't waste another minute.

STAND UP FOR YOURSELF--GODS GOT YOUR BACK

HEALING THE BROKEN HEARTED!

I have received many questions on this subject, let me explain, and I will not color coat this:

People will treat you how you teach them to. They will test you to see how much they can get away with, and when they find your weakness they will walk all over you...
Once he gets to know your weakness down to a science, he will begin to make his move into your heart. Now that your love, and he's captured your undivided attention. Your weakness becomes a game to him. He begins with his mood swings, and then his temper. You have made every excuse in the book, why he is treating you like this. The crazy part of this entire scenario is that he knows this.
He begins to put you down. You start to feel you have no say in the matter, because your frightened of the situation, and you know it could escalate into something else. You will start to feel you have no ground to stand on. What are you thinking at this moment? The obvious, you don't want to get hurt. You question your decisions, and you know this isn't the way love should be. He tries everything in his power to make you think that you're the crazy one.
At times during your relationship, you didn't even see this coming. Being ridiculed and belittled in public, you have nowhere to run and hide from the embarrassment. Your only outlet is deep in your heart where no one can see, but you. This is where you go and cry, and pray that he would stop doing this to you. If any of this sounds familiar, please stop the excuses. He doesn't deserve your love and kindness. No one has the right to treat anyone this way.
There is no reason to hold onto something that is so wrong. Let me ask you a few questions. Please be honest with yourself.

Let's begin:

1.) Is this the life you always dreamed of?
2.) Is this the love you've always wished you had?
3.) Are you smiling more than you ever have before?
4.) Are you laughing so much that it feels amazing?

Let's start off with these questions first. We will go over this more Thursday.

Just like we check our checkbook, we need to check and take notice what is going on in our lives.

A) Don't hold yourself back on the life you really want.
B) Don't be the person, who is consistently making excuses for being treated disrespectfully.
C) You are wonderful, a woman who deserves to be loved the right way.
D) Kindness is not hard. Love is not hard. Being cherished is not hard. We make it harder than it is....

Maybe you're asking how??

By staying in a relationship without value. Remember, this doesn't only affect you, it shakes up the entire family.

Is this what is holding you back from the life you really deserve?

HOW DOES A MAN TREAT YOU?

WHAT IS A MAN TELLING YOU?

There's a message in a way a man treats you:

We tend not to listen very well when a man is speaking. This happens when we don't want to believe what he is telling us. We want our relationship to work, and live happily ever after. We begin to overcompensate. We know there is a problem, and begin to act as if everything is fine. We try to do more to please and become drained because that's not the problem.

We close our eyes, so we do not see what is really going on or blurry vision will occur because our heart tells us everything is going to be alright. In fact, when we close our eyes, the other sense's pick up everything. Our hearing tunes into every word. We hear all the answers we have avoided.

No one is ready for this experience. We are not equipped emotionally to put anything in order to handle a broken heart. All we can say to ourselves is; I love this man, and why is he doing this to me.

What do you think we do next?

We go right into protective mode "Silence." We can't get any words out, because anything we say won't make any sense. Our heart is crying, and we feel torn. Words, thoughts and our heart are not working together. You can't even find any excuses in the pit of your stomach to make yourself feel better. You used them up, (bad day at work, or he's tired, etc...) You have to figure out how to engage in a conversation without looking needy, desperate or just outright begging.

How we react will give us the upper hand on the outcome of our relationship. If you yell and become nasty, he won't have second thoughts about leaving for good. You can take a different approach, and remain calm, and rational. You already knew something wasn't right. You did everything else to avoid the situation. Now it's time to confront it straight on.

There is no beating around the bush. You already know how he feels. He spelled it out for you many times. He is waiting for some type of a response from you, acknowledging that there is a problem in your relationship. You must start a conversation. You don't want to have any separation or break up without trying to communicate.

Your asking, how do I begin?

1. When you are collected and can remain calm.
2. At a time where there are no distractions.
3. When you understand that this must happen, to live a happier life.
4. When you can acknowledge there is a problem.

Only when you can answer these 4 questions, you are ready to take the next step and communicate.

Every relationship is different. It has weaknesses and strengths. Make your connection stronger with communication, and understanding. You both are wonderful people. You have been with each other for some time, and have a good idea what they are all about. This is a position your heart didn't know it was going to find it's self in.

If he decides that both of you need a break, you must honor that and agree. You can't force him to stay, and begin an explain why, when things haven't been right for a while. It doesn't help matters any.

After you have the conversation with him. It won't make your feelings stop running, but it will take the pressure, and burden that has kept the both of you in an uncertain state for a while.

You were tired of trying to overdo and refused to believe this was happening. He didn't know what to say to you, worried he was going to hurt your feelings. You both were in a trap, you created for yourselves.

You don't know what the future holds. You are leaving your hearts open to each other. Maybe a break is what will bring you closer and stronger. Or you may find different people, and It was for the best. You have to trust your plan. Our journey is made up of many people. We have to remind ourselves to embrace the good times, and the bad times. This is what molds us into the people we were created to be, and the person we spend the rest of our life with.

While you make this change, continue to keep the light on in your heart so people can find you. Laugh, smile and enjoy life's richness. Be around people who love you, and support you.

Most of all, be patient.
